HR Advisor

Inventive Search are looking to recruit an experienced HR Manager to join our clients diverse and highly trained team. 

The Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing accurate HR advice and guidance to the internal and external stakeholders across multiple HR disciplines as well as pro-actively reviewing and updating HR processes.

This is a perfect role for somebody with previous HR generalist experience who is process-driven with a strong attention to detail &  is looking for their next opportunity in a fast paced but friendly environment. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Employee Relations manage and resolve complex employee relations issues.

  • Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations;

  •  Provide HR advice on disciplinaries and grievances;

  •  Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention;

  • Provide HR advice to a range of internal stakeholders on all HR and workforce matters. 

 

Recruitment managing all stages of the recruitment process including;

  • Administering recruitment campaigns; gaining feedback from recruiting managers in a timely manner;

  • Participating in first stage interviews (as and when required) all whilst ensuring that the HR department complies with best practice and compliance including DBS/security vetting checks and Right to Work verification.

 

On-Boarding, Induction & Probation 

  • Managing all stages of the above processes including; Preparation of offer letters, contracts, and all other new start documentation; pre-employment checks; conducting first day induction and 4-week check-in meetings, Organising corporate quarterly inductions and administering the probation process.

 

New Joiners / Changes / Leaver 

  • Managing all stages of the above processes including; conducting meetings, issuing changes to terms and conditions letters, promotion & leavers’ letters (and leaver calculations), conducting exit interviews and ensuring that any feedback is passed on and actioned when and where appropriate.

 

Learning & Development

  • Responsible for the design and management of the annual organisational learning and development plan, including training needs analysis of appraisal data, organisational work-plans and strategies;

  • Lead on, in conjunction with the HR Manager, successful delivery of learning and development, ensuring that this supports organisational objectives and values;

  •  Evaluate learning and development activities to ensure transfer of learning and impact on individual, team and organisational performance.

 

Perfomance & Reward

  • Manage the HR core processes that support and drive the initiatives of talent management, succession planning and retention;

  • Advise and aide in the creation of environment that attracts, retains and motivates top talent;

  • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to line management.

 

HR Service Delivery

  • Communicating with senior stakeholders within the business to implement strategic HR objectives;

  • Producing comprehensive reports for the senior management team as required.

 

HR Database Maintenance

  • Auditing the HR Database to ensure it contains employees’ most current, relevant and accurate personal data.

 

Compliance

  • Acting as day-to-day point of contact for General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and ISO27001 compliance within the HR department.

 

Ad-hoc Activities

  • Regularly reviewing processes and updating as and when required. o drafting ad-hoc letters and documents;

  • Assisting with tender responses;

  • Ensuring electronic and paper-based employee files are securely maintained;

  • Coordinating workstation and pregnancy risk assessments in liaison with the Health & Safety Manager.

Skills & Experience: 

  • Experience of providing advice and support to managers at all levels in all key aspects of generalist HR and employee relations;

  • An up-to-date knowledge of employment law and HR best practice and the skills to apply and interpret this including data protection & security;

  • Skilled in writing reports, correspondence, and human resources processes/policies and guidance;

  • Strong team player with a collaborative approach. proactive and flexible with a “can do” attitude;

  • Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritise work.

  • A flexible, hands-on approach to work;

  • Must possess excellent HR administration skills with experience of managing,
    reviewing and updating processes throughout all stages of the employment lifecycle as outlined above;

  • Structured and methodical in approach, with an appreciation for processes.

  • demonstrates creative thinking and problem-solving skills but knows when to
    escalate issues;

  • Robust and resilient in approach – has the confidence to challenge and ‘push back’
    when required;

  • excellent communication skills, both oral and written with the ability to effectively
    articulate an opinion and engage with both internal and external stakeholders
    through a variety of different mediums;

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to build and maintain relationships and work cross functionally and interact confidently with multiple stakeholders;

  • A natural flair for delivering high levels of customer service;

  • Proficient in MS packages including Word, Excel and Outlook with computer skills
    for browser-based applications;

  • Working towards a CIPD qualification is desirable but not essential (support offered).
